Today an announcement was made in the Gulden Community, that Gulden (NLG) will be connected to a very new technology, which makes it possible to list Gulden on a decentralized Exchange. Since the last Bitcoin block halving (April 19, 2024), a new fungible token standard has been introduced on the Bitcoin blockchain (called Runes Protocol). These tokens are digital assets that can be traded on a one-to-one basis. People within the Gulden Community have managed to launch a token on Bitcoin, called NEDERLANDSE•GULDEN (let's call it Gulden BTC), with the same supply (1970M) as Gulden (NLG).

Currently also people are working for a possibility to swap Gulden (NLG) to Gulden (BTC) on 1:1 base, so that Gulden (BTC) can be traded on a decentralized exchange, the bitcoin network, using the new technology (Runes Protocol). More details will be shared later!

Today, the first version of the Gulden wallet has been released to the public. This is still a beta version, but all core functions are working (send/receive/mining/holding).

Every blockchain needs a blockchain explorer, therefore Gulden.Network was launched. This platform can be used for data enrichment purposes, but also other important information related to Gulden will be published via this platform.

The first block, also called the Genesis block was mined on November 30, 2023 13:10. The "new" Gulden project was born as a successor of "old" Gulden. The currency code will remain the same: NLG. On the same date, v.1.0.0.0 of the Desktop Wallet was released and accessible for early Gulden adopters.
